Icy conditions in Western Michigan Friday led to several accidents and three deaths.

A man died Friday morning after the car he was driving collided with a snowplow in Van Buren County. According to reports, the 20-year-old man was driving on M-51 near Eagle Lake Road just after 6 a.m. when he slid into the path of a southbound MDOT snow plow.The driver was alone in the vehicle and officials said he lost control on the slippery road and was wearing his seatbelt when the crash occurred. He was unresponsive and not breathing when emergency crews arrived. They transported him to a hospital in Paw Paw where he was pronounced dead.Earlier in the morning, about 1 a.m. in Kent County a car went off the road and crashed into a tree on 18 Mile Road west of Fruit Ridge Avenue. An 18-year-old girl was killed in the crash. Her passenger ran to get help, but the vehicle caught fire in the meantime. Officials believe alcohol and speed also played a role in the crash.About 5 a.m. in Barry County at the intersection of M-37 and Hickory Road, a 22-year-old man died when the SUV he was riding in crossed the center line and collided with an oncoming milk truck. The driver of the SUV is facing charges for driving with a suspended license causing death.
